This horizontal bearing press was built to install the bearings to each end of a motor shaft for a well known industrial motor manufacturer. At the far right of the station, a complete set of gage blocks allow for "quick and easy" changeover for the hundreds of motor shaft assembly models produced. A digital micrometer measures the location of each assembly during the cycle, to maintain quality assurance during production.
The machine control is by a GE FANUC PLC, and the operator is protected from incidental entry into the work area by the installation of a "Light Curtain" at the access opening. This will HALT all operation of the machine, should intrusion be detected during the cycle.
